Sherwood High School football and cheer teams hosted their first “Stuff the Truck” event during the big playoff game against Hermostin at 7:pm on November 11th all to benefit the Michael Grimm Foundation and Chelsea Hicks Foundations. People helped by bringing NEW stuffed animals, costumes and accessories to the game to help STUFF THE TRUCK full of NEW stuffed animals for the Michael Grimm Foundation and costumes for Chelsea’s Closet, comforting sick children at our NW Children’s Hospitals. Both stuffed animals and costumes are ALWAYS IN NEED for both boys and girls, age infant to 18. The Chelsea Hicks Foundation was also the charity choice for Sherwood HS Cheer’s service project this year. Jared Jewelers was also onsite at the Bowmen Game selling bears! This was a great addition for those who forgot to bring a stuffed animal as representatives from Jared Jewelers was there to sell stuffed bears for only 12.99 with 100% of the proceeds going to St Jude’s. Those bears could in turn be put in Stuff the Truck for the drive. It gets better, Jared also generously donated a large case of those special "Jared Bears" helping to provide a load of HOPE to the Bowmen's drive that gave many smiles to sick children who are patients at Children's Hospitals right here in the Portland area. Everyone was warmed by the spirit of the Wilsonville football team as they brought in several boxes of costumes to donate. With all the kind donations organized by Sherwood Youth Cheer and Football, along with people who came help "Stuff the Truck", there were dozens and dozens of beautiful costumes for both boys and girls of all ages brought in for Chelsea's Closet and 464 stuffed animals were reported to have been collected for the "With Love from Michael" stuffed animal campaign also known as the Michael Grimm Foundation. Willowbrook Food Pantry Gets a Truckload of HOPE from Edy Ridge School! Edy Ridge Kids Help Drive Out Hunger In December, Edy Ridge School kids stood united to help raise food for a local Sherwood food bank. Working together, the wolves helped "Stuff the Truck" full of all kinds of food from cereal boxes, peanut butter, caned foods, pastas and more. Filler' up Each day as donations came in, the cans in the school and the bed of the truck would fill - before your eyes, it was clear to see the big difference these kids were making. By spreading the work, generous donations and a daily commitment, the kids were well on their way to filler' up for the food bank... And that's just what they did! When we heard from the Willowbrook food pantry (Located on Edy Road in Sherwood), they were very grateful for the generous donations the kids brought in. With a full truckload consisting of over 1,000 items, their guess was that they raised close to 3000 pounds of food! New Totes Help Stuff the Truck Bright ideas are abundant at Edy Ridge, thanks to creative minds we came up with the idea of totes on wheels to help efforts of collecting goods for drives. A quick call to Pride Disposal Service in Sherwood and they were happy to offer a generous donation of 4 new recycle bins to help support the schools drive and Stuff the Truck's community service mission. Our good friends over at PDX Wraps in Sherwood are the creative masterminds behind the "hot wheel" design and wrapped up those totes in a flash to match. "Special Thanks" to our community partners, because of you we all benefit from your participation and sincerely appreciate your support! Message courtesy of Edy Ridge Pac Site Thank you to all the Edy Ridge Wolves who donated cans and boxes of food to help families in the Sherwood area. We did "Stuff the Truck", and boxes and boxes of your donated supplies were delivered to the Willowbrook Food Pantry right here in Sherwood. A special Thanks to Jason and Amber Gardner for donating the use of their cool truck, and to Kambri McDonald for riding shotgun, making sure the principal didn’t get too happy with the hot rod. Congratulations EDY RIDGE KIDS Your efforts provided a truckload of hope to others and helped drive out hunger in your community! Thank you Edy Ridge Kids!!! Waazuup? A successful youth food drive that's what! These Laurel Ridge girls organized a team with Stuff the Truck and with the help of the Sherwood community, lots of food to contribute to the Sherwood food bank! Their teamwork also helped them earn over 1,800 food points for their group. They spent 3 hours braving the cold and rain running house to house around town to collect food, fill boxes and stuff the truck! Wet, cold and a little tired, the day was warmed by their caring hearts and the many people who helped them in their mission to make a difference in their community. They had loads of fun, shared many laughs and made great memories along the way...
